From celebrity lingerie to stool samples, NYC couriers spill their strangest deliveries

If you need a document or package delivered fast, a local New York courier service is definitely a cheap and effective way to get your parcel from point A to B. And let's face it - with the constant city traffic and heavy pedestrian flow, a bike messenger service can sometimes be among the quickest way to get around the city.

But it is New York City after all, and sometimes, couriers have to deal with some seriously strange requests. And we're not just talking about dry cleaning that needs to be taken from Brooklyn to Midtown, or even M&Ms with the yellow ones picked out for a visiting celebrity diva.

New York Magazine tracked a few local cycling messengers down to ask them which delivery was truly their most bizarre. Some were funny, others were odd and still others were just plain gross.

"The most ironic thing was a fax machine," said Jack Blackfelt, a 35-year-old bicycle messenger. "But one time I delivered a human fecal sample."

It turns out, stool samples - human and dog - topped a few respondents' lists as a package that they definitely were extra careful not to spill along the way. Other items cited included tupperware, three glass jars of pasta sauce and a bra for Janet Jackson (that must have been after the 2004 Super{ B}owl, of course).

Although hopefully you or your business doesn't need to deliver stool samples anytime soon, using a courier service can still be a fast and environmentally friendly way to get your most important items delivered - no questions asked, of course.
